From The Desk Of The Executive Director
Patela Care Foundation
Honoured to be a #facilitatorAtBRECAN for their first Cervical Cancer Prevention and Awareness Workshop and particularly inspired to have had the #FirstLadyOfOndoStateNigeria, H.E Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu founder of BRECAN, at the workshop as well.
January is Cervical Cancer Prevention Awareness Month.
Cervical cancer is the most common Gyneacological cancer in the developing countries. There has been a 50% drop in cervical cancer diagnosis in the past 4 decades in western countries. However, its a different picture in low and middle income countries such as Nigeria. We need to embrace urgently @WHO global initiative 90:70:90 to scale up preventative, screening and treatment interventions to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem in the 21st century.
