Patela care foundation a non- governmental Organization, commemorated the International childhood cancer awareness month through our the month of September at the Paediatric oncology wards of University College Hospital Ibadan.
The Childhood Cancer Awareness Month commemorated every year in September is a global collaboration campaign created to raise awareness promote advocacy, raise funds, improve childhood cancers health policies by engaging key opinion stakeholders; and much more, honor the courage and resilience of children and family care givers dealing with cancer diagnosis.
Patela Care Foundation is a non- governmental Organization since it’s founding, has been committed to this global collaborative campaign by promoting childhood cancer awareness through media programs, awareness talks and walks, and providing financial and psychosocial support.
In its usual custom, Patela Care Foundation again this year provided chemotherapy drugs, pharmaceutical items, light bites, fun and entertainment for children receiving care at the Pediatric Oncology wards, University College Hospital UCH Ibadan.
Patela Care Foundation Team was received by the HOD of Paediatric Department, Prof Brown, ably represented by Dr Fashina, Head of Nursing Pediatrics, DDN Oki, and the oncology team and family care givers.
Feedback are that the PCF initiative reduces the financial toxicity of cancer for some families and improves their psycho social well being.
Patela Care Foundation is committed to providing psychosocial support for individuals and families living with cancer diagnosis.
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo in his good will message, appreciated Patela care foundation for the childhood cancer awareness and all other noble deeds, by bringing smiles to the faces of children on Paediatric oncology wards. He further stated the management’s continuous support to the foundation.
