Patela Care Foundation was honoured to be part of the commemoration ceremony of World Refugee Day, 20th of June 2023. This was hosted by the National Commission for Migrants, Refugees and IDPs, South West Zone Lagos (NCFRMI) and United Nations Refugees Agency (UNHCR).

The theme for this year’s event was, “Hope Away From Home”. The NCFRMI’s vision and mission was reaffirmed by the south west zonal coordinator Mrs Erinfolami while delivering her speech at this remarkable event.

The Executive Director, Patela Care Foundation Dr Foluke Sarimiye reaffirmed her organization’s commitment in providing Psychosocial Care and Health Education, not limited to but particularly in the area of #CancerControl, to Persons of Concern.

Also present at the event were distinguished representatives of NCFRMI, UNHCR, IOM, Red Cross, CSOs, NGOs, Stakeholders, Entertainment Industry and the Media.

The occasion was inspiring; listening to persons with concern share their resilient success stories despite the challenges they encounter on their journey and also hope for a better future. It was also a time of relaxation and entertainment as persons of concern participated in Talent Shows, showcasing their skills.The networking of NGOs to strengthen collaboration was commendable and many more memorable side attractions were present at the event.

To receive Patela Care Foundation’s relief materials were NCFRMI South West Zonal Coordinator Mrs Erinfolami Ola, Musa Zubair – Protection Office, Head of Community Service Unit, Alex Oturu – Head of Migration Unit and Julius Olubajo – Protection Office, Head of Protection Unit and other members of the team.
